Hello Fellow Self Tanners!
Welcome to my blog! I am a self-professed “melanin-challenged” individual and have been an avid self-tanner since the ripe old age of 13. I remember wanting to be tan and brown like the rest of my friends but my ghostly white and freckled skin just would not allow it! One day out of desperation, I ventured into my mother’s medicine cabinet and generously slathered myself with Coppertone Quick Tan, (the first self-tanning products on the market – not a bad brand, they just had not perfected the color thing yet!; ) ) and promptly turned a bright shade of orange! It was from that experience that pushed me to begin my quest to find the perfect self-tanner.
I am a licensed aesthetician and educator and have worked for some of the top U.S. cosmetic and skin care companies. In my last position as Director of Education – North America for St. Tropez Tan, I received numerous inquiries from women and men about tips and tricks, what products to use and how to avoid mishaps. The need for an online forum / platform for people to go to was missing so it was only natural that I start a blog and share my experiences and expertise directly with the world cause self-tanning is my passion! This blog allows you to ask me questions, make comments, share your own stories, pictures and information so we can all benefit, so feel free to post and give feedback on the site! Think of www.selftanningqueen.com as your “go-to” resource for everything sunless, so if there is anything I am missing just drop me a line, I would love to hear from you!
Update: Based on my learning from this blog and all the feedback I got from you, my readers, I have started my own self-tanning line called, BEAUTISOL. There you will find all my “How-To” videos if you ever need any visual help! : ) Even though I am very excited about my new company, I wanted to let you know that this blog will remain a non-biased platform for everything in the self-tanning and suncare arena.
