Ganguro… Huh?

Posted on | May 21, 2009 | 4 Comments

gangurogirlNow that’s a new one for me!  I happen to be doing a search on extreme tanning and came across this on wikipedia.  “Ganguro is an alternative fashion trend of blond or orange hair and tanned skin among young Japanese women that peaked in popularity around the year 2000, but remains evident today.”  Wondering if it is still prevalent in Japan and if my BFF “Scotland’s #1 Male Barbie” was trying to bring the Yamanba style back?!  Just a random thought on a Thursday afternoon!

Has anyone seen this in Japan recently?  Thoughts?

I know it seems crazy, but I give props to ANYONE that can create “A LOOK” (and this is a serious look) and have the confidence to carry it off….Because really, isn’t that what all this beauty business about? If YOU think you look good, then don’t you? (and to H-E-Double Hockey Sticks to anyone elses opinions?)…

This just doesn’t look right?! No offense, but I seriously think that these girls have been dipped in soy sauce to get this color
