Eat Your Way to Beautiful Skin!

They say you are what you eat. If this is true, then I’m on my way to turning into a giant frozen yogurt! Fortunately, the reality of the situation is a little less literal, but nonetheless true. I find that after one too many weekends of splurging on sugary-goodies and carb-laden meals, my skin tends to look splotchy, puffy, and far from fabulous.
So with the New Year in full swing, I’ve resolved to improve my skin from the inside out. After all, when you treat your body well, everything else falls into place – your complexion included! Here’s my top list of healthy food to enjoy while you eat your way to beautiful skin:
Berries: Blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries are a sweet way to up your antioxidant intake. These super foods protect your skin from damaging free radicals and help keep premature aging at bay.
Walnuts, Salmon, Flax Seed, & Canola Oil: These sources of essential fatty acids are what lock-in moisture and keep your skin looking plump and youthful.
Dark Leafy Greens and Vegetables: The darker the color, the better! These nutritional powerhouses deliver an abundance of vitamins and minerals as well as phytonutrients including beta-carotene.
Green Tea: I saved the best for last because this enjoyable beverage truly works overtime in its benefits! Green tea boasts anti-inflammatory properties, helping to improve overall health, and it’s also believed to reduce the risk of skin cancer.
What’s on your list? Would love to hear from you!
